Prarayer – Breuil/Cervinia
First we walk some meters, down the path into the valley to the stream, then we cross the bridge and hike out of the valley, again, until we meet a junction that leads to the Alpe Valcornera. The path ascends steeply for a short period and then goes flatter into the valley. Soon we reach the junction to Colle Valcornera, which is well marked with a big stone. A well laid out path takes us up the steep hillside. Iron steps and spikes help at difficult passages. Additionaly, we can hold on to chains.

From the next terrain level the path sometimes vanishes in the scattered scree. Stone men help the orientation in this steep, unfriendly terrain. At the following descent, increased awarness is needed. The path is steep and slippery for about 50 meters, especially if it is wet. Quickly the terrain becomes flat again and we walk comfortably to the Rifugio Perucca, where we can enjoy an exquisite rest.
On a varied path we hike over some smaller terrain levels down to the Fenêtre de Tsignanaz. Just below, the Lago Tsignanaz glitters. The small ascent, on the next hill, is worth the effort, as we can see the Matterhorn showing its splendor from its south side.

The trail descends again and we reach the timber line. It leads us to Perriere, where we meet a road again. Between the road and a river we walk comfortably to Breuil/Cervinia.
