Jungu – Gruben
In the beginning, the path leads us over meadows. Below the "Grossu Sparruwand", a way of the cross with artistic carved figures proceeds through a sparse forest, to Jungu. From here the path squirms again in short bends, up the steep hillside. Above the treeline the sun already burns the hiker in the neck. Just below the ridge we encounter an old mule track, which leads almost completely evenly around it. The ground is stony, we have the impression to be in a Karl May novel. We cross the Augst-pass quickly and easely.
The well laid out path down into the Turmann-valley leads us quickly to Gruben. Cows, on the alpine pastures, try to lick the salt off the hikers sweaty skin. But be aware, a cow's tongue feels like a cheese grate!

Through the forest we can soon spot the "Hotel Schwarzhorn", in Gruben. It is distinctive because it is the highest building of the small hamlet. Good food, sympathetic rooms and a big, cosy terrace await the thirsty hiker.

In the Turtmänna, the streamlet which flows through the Turtmann-valley, is an ideal place for bar hopping!
